Shoplifting Leads to Fentanyl Discovery

An attempted shoplifting incident at the Weatherford Walmart lead to the discovery of fentanyl and other illegal drugs.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 27-year-old Cayla Rae Ray of Edmond was arrested on October 20 after she allegedly put items into a suitcase and leave the store without paying for them.

After police arrested her, a search of her purse would turn up a little over 15 grams of fentanyl, 0.73 grams of cocaine, 0.93 of methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.

Ray was charged with aggravated trafficking in illegal drugs, two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and larceny.

Bond was set at $25,000. Her first court date is scheduled for November 13.
