A Clinton man is wanted in Custer County on charges of third degree burglary after his suspected involvement in an alleged car robbery.

According to a probable cause affidavit, a warrant for the arrest of 22-year-old Keelie Lain Dakota Gifford was issued last week after receiving the felony charge. The affidavit stated that on August 14, Clinton police met with the victim of the crime who told them that a male subject was seen on security footage breaking into two vehicle that were in her driveway. The woman told police that her wallet was taken that contained bank cards and $500 of cash.

A break in the case came when the victim said she had posted video of the crime on social media. She said someone suggested that the perpetrator may have been Gifford.

After obtaining a picture of Gifford, police were able to confirm that he was the suspect by matching it with previous book-in photos.

Court records show that this isn’t the only warrant out for Gifford’s arrest. Records show he is also wanted on a misdemeanor charge of concealing stolen property and driving under the influence of alcohol – both out of Custer County.
