A Tennessee man was arrested recently after a traffic stop lead to the discovery of illegal drugs and the illegal possession of a firearm.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the arrest took place on January 6th on Interstate 40 in Beckham County when a trooper with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol conducted a traffic stop on a semi pulling a cattle trailer due to not having proper equipment on the trailer. The trooper also noted that the trailer had a broken brake light.

The trooper wrote that when he approached the driver, later identified as being 30-year-old Trevor Guerrero of Flintville, Tennessee, he noted that he detected the odor of raw marijuana.

Initially the driver denied possessing marijuana but would later admit to possessing the drug, and told the trooper where to locate it.

The affidavit also said a search of the semi cab would also produce a loaded pistol.

Court records would show that Guerrero had two felony convictions in the past and was not allowed to be in possession of the gun.

The defendant was formally charged on January 25 with possession of a firearm AFC and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
