Missing Girl Found – Possible Human Trafficking Attempt?

Beckham County Sheriffs Deputies worked quickly Tuesday afternoon, using social media messages to locate and arrest two possible suspects in the disappearance of a 14-year-old girl.

Beckham County Sherrif Derek Manning says the incident began when the girl’s 6-year-old sister awoke Tuesday morning to find that her older sister, who was suppose to be in the home watching her, was missing. The sibling would dial 911 to report the missing teenager. After an investigation that including searching the area and investigating social media activity, it was determined that the girl may have been in contact with an adult male from Michigan, that could be in the area driving a semi for a trucking company out of Mississippi. Sheriff Manning said his deputy’s attempt to contact the company failed, however he wouldn’t give up.

 

Manning said his department will continue to investigate the suspect’s past, and determine if he has had any ties with human trafficking.

 

Manning said the male suspect has a lengthy record, including a history of sexual assaults.
