Spring Sports Playoffs: Elk City Elks Fall Short in Semifinals, Big Elk Tennis Shines, and Clinton Claims 3rd Straight Boys Soccer Title

SPRING SPORTS PLAYOFFS

The spring sports calendar in Oklahoma high school athletics finished up this weekend with multiple state tournaments being held all across the state. Here are the highlights:

Elk City Elks’ Semifinal Loss

The Elk City Elks and Tuttle Tigers met each other in the semifinals for the second consecutive year of the Class 4A Baseball Tournament. Despite a strong start, Elk City fell short with a 7-4 loss to Tuttle. It was a valiant effort from the Elks, who finish the season with an impressive record of 34-4.

Big Elk Tennis Success

Big Elk Tennis competed in the Class 4A state tournament at the OKC Tennis Center. Max Murry put up a strong performance in #2 singles, finishing just one win away from a chance to play for 5th place. James Robinson and Mason Mahl had a good run but fell short in the 5th place match. Syvan Syribouth and Quinn Brewer showcased their skills, reaching the semifinals before finishing 4th. Overall, it was another outstanding season for Big Elk Tennis.

Clinton’s Boys Soccer Triumph

The Clinton Red Tornadoes continued their dominance on the 4A boys soccer field, aiming for a three-peat against Hilldale at Rogers State. Clinton secured victory with a 2-1 scoreline, claiming their 3rd consecutive state championship. They are now the favorites as they look ahead to the upcoming season, aiming for an incredible fourth straight title.
