With that ground ball to Tiarre Jennings, the Oklahoma Sooners are queens of college softball for the second straight season.
Last night the entirety of OU’s powers were on display in their 10-5 title clinching win against arch rival Texas. Defense was the order of the early innings, particularly centerfielder Jayda Coleman who robbed a homerun in the bottom of the first.
Texas led 2-0 in the 4th when Oklahoma tied it at 2. The 5th is when the Sooners came alive at the plate…. That 3 run shot by Kenzie Hansen made it 6-2. Grace Lyons ended all doubt an inning later…. Oklahoma ends the season an astounding 58-3.
This is the 6th national title for Patty Gasso, 5th in the last 10 years. OU went 115-7 over the previous two seasons. An incredible run by an incredible team that’ll be mentioned with the greatest of all time.
