State Champions were crowned on Championship Saturday inside the Big House this weekend for Class A and B.

The Hammon Lady Warriors are Class B State Champs after defeating Lomega 59-49. Hammon led by 19 at the half before the Lady Raiders trimmed the lead to 6 a couple of different times in the 4th quarter. Hammon always had an answer to hold Lomega off for the title. Senior Maley Chaney had 21 in the finals. So Henley West also had 21 while snagging 12 rebounds and blocking 6 shots. Sr. Harlee Benkley chipped in with 11. Abby Swart led Lomega with 22 and Darcy Roberts chipped in with 18. It’s the 3rd State Title for the Lady Warriors, 2nd under Coach Leah Beer. The Class B Girls All-Tournament Team consisted of West, Chaney, Roberts, Swart, Akeira Hawk of Pittsburgh. Henley West was named the tournament MVP after piling up 60 points, 38 rebounds, and 12 blocked shots.

Class B Boys had a familiar title winner. Fort Cobb-Broxton defeated Calumet 68-52. Blayke Nunn came out of nowhere for the mustangs in the title game with a team-high 18 on 6-7 shooting. Calumet was led by Dalton Belcher with 19. It’s the 8th state championship for FCB coach Scott Hines, tying him for 3rd most all-time in Oklahoma hs boys basketball. The All-Tournament team consisted of Belcher and his teammate Hunter Arnold of Calumet. Tre Spear from Glencoe. FCB’s Simeon Collins as well as the Mustangs Jr. guard Kray Rogers who was also named the MVP.

The dynasty that is the Seiling Lady Cats kept rolling down the tracks to a second straight Class A Girls title. Seiling outlasted Caddo 54-40 for the Gold Ball. The Lady Cats were led by Braci Nyberg with 17. Kenly Gore chipped in with 15 points and 10 boards. Emily Robinson led all scorers for Caddo with 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. It’s the 6th State title for the Lady Cats in the last 8 years, and they’ll be the overwhelming favorites to win three straight with everybody back next season. The All-Tournament team was Robinson and her teammate Jaycie Nichols of Caddo, Emma Stover from Okarche, Gore, and Nyberg as well. Braci Nyberg was named the MVP.

The Class A Boys saw a first-time champion. The Caddo Bruins defeated the Okay Mustangs 58-51 in the finals. Superstar Junior DJ Dill led the Bruins with 23. Koby Benhardt chipped in with 12. Okay got 12 apiece from Diezel Davis and Tito Ramos. Caddo wins their first state title in their first trip to the championship game, while Okay falls to 0-3 in title tilts. The All-Tournament team was Davis and Ashton Walters from Okay, Hudson Hamar of Seiling, Carson Culbreath, and MVP DJ Dill from Caddo
