
Elk City High School Golf Recap
Big Elk Golf qualified for the State tournament yesterday in a 36-hole regional tournament held at Prairie West Golf Club in Weatherford.
Elks Head to State
The Elks came home second with rounds of 350 and 338 to punch their ticket to the State Tournament next Monday and Tuesday at Boiling Springs in Woodward.
Tuttle was the regional champ, 40 shots ahead of the Elks. Woodward was 3rd a shot behind the Elks.
Individual Golf Scores
Individually Big Elk Nathan Womack smashed the field en route to being the regional medalist. Womack fired rounds of 72-71 for a 143 total, 10 shots clear of second. Mason Schmidt shot 84-82. Brayden Duncan shot 95-94. Baylor Gholston had 99-91. Keaton Twyman shot 109-107.
The Elks qualified for the state tournament after graduating 3 standout seniors from last season’s state runner-up team. There were some other individuals from around the area that also will be in Woodward next week.
Weatherford’s Tate Sage will be there after shooting 85-84.
