High School Basketball Regional Tournaments

The Class A and B Regional high school basketball tournaments got underway in a bunch of locations across Western Oklahoma yesterday.

Class A Regional Basketball

In Class A Girls action, Canute topped Hollis 45-29 and AB smacked Velma-alma 45-27.

Class A boys saw Canute keep their season alive with a 66-47 win over Snyder.

Hollis fell to Boone-Apache 49-43 in winners bracket action.

AB lost to Velma Alma 55-48.

Class B Regional Basketball

In Class B Girls action, Hammon hammered Duke 75-22.

Erick kept their season alive with a 33-13 win over Granite.

In Class B Boys, Erick tripped up MVG 35-33 while Hammon fell to Duke 70-32.

In Class A girls action, Hollis faces Turpin at 6:00 in Cheyenne. Class A boys have Hollis and Turpin at 7:30 in Cheyenne. Class B Girls features Leedey and Tyrone at 6:00 in Beaver. Erick and Duke will tip at 6:00 in Hammon. Class B Boys there’s Leedey vs Vici at 7:30 in Beaver. Erick and Hammon get going at 7:30 in Hammon.

Class 2A Regional Basketball

Classes 2A and 4A will get their District Tournaments started tonight. In 2A Merritt hosts Sayre. The Oilerettes and Lady Eagles are scheduled to tip at 6:00 with the Oilers and Eagles to follow.

Class 4A Regional Basketball

Elk City will get their basketball playoff run started tonight in Woodward. The Class 4A District tournaments feature two Western Oklahoma rivals going at it inside Boomer Fieldhouse. Woodward’s had the better of it lately against Elk City. The Lady Boomers are 4-2 against the Elkettes the last 3 seasons.

The Boomers have won 5 of 6 over the same stretch against the Big Elks. The girl’s game pits 12-9 Elk City against 12-10 Woodward. In the boy’s game, the Big Elks are 10-11 while the Boomers are 9-12.
