The High school basketball playoffs got underway over the weekend in Class A and B.

The Paragontv schools had nice district results.

In Class A both Arapaho-Butler teams are District champions. The Lady Indians handled the Cordell Lady Blue Devils 53-8. The Indians defeated Union City 39-31. Both teams will face Velma-Alma in the Regional winner’s bracket action on Thursday.

Both Hollis teams won a pair of district games to take home titles. The Lady Tigers knocked out Snyder 42-32 and upset Navajo 48-47. The Tigers beat Navajo 48-26 then got the better of Snyder 40-27. The Lady Tigers will face Canute on Thursday in regional winners bracket action. The Tigers get Boone-apache.

Speaking of Canute, The Trojanettes hammered Binger-Oney 77-30. The Trojans knocked out Binger-Oney on Friday night 61-40. They fell in their district final 73-58 to Boone-Apache. Canute’s season will be on the line Thursday afternoon against Snyder.

Down in Class B, both Leedey teams are district champs. The Lady Bison smoked Waynoka 74-36. The Bison topped Sharon-Mutual 53-37. The Leedey girls face Tyrone on Thursday. The Bison get Vici.

Both Hammon teams are district champions. The Lady Warriors won easily 75-21. The Warriors beat Sweetwater 47-43 and then won districts with a 49-37 victory against Corn Bible Academy. Both Hammon teams get Duke on Thursday.

Both Erick teams are moving on to Regionals. The Lady Bearcats beat Blair 39-38 in OT but fell to Sentinel 51-26. The Bearcats got past Blair 67-34 then lost to Sentinel 52-36. The Lady Bearcats will play Granite on Thursday afternoon in the regional consolation bracket. The Bearcats get Mt. View-Gotebo.

Elk City and Merritt are wrapping up their regular season ahead of the coming weekend’s district tournaments.

Elk City fell to Newcastle in both games on Sr. night Friday. The Lady Racers shot the lights out in a 60-49 win. The Racers started fast and never looked back in an 82-56 win over the Elks. Tonight ends the regular season with Bethany in town. We’ll have live video streaming on Big Elk TV as well as radio coverage on KOOL 94.3FM. Pregame starts at 5:45 ahead of the 6:00 tip. Merritt hosted Mangum on Sr. night.

The Oilerettes continue to roll with a 72-23 win over the Lady Tigers. The Oilers handled the Tigers 60-46.
