Elk City Pitcher Gives Up No Runs, No Hits

As basketball ends the spring sports are beginning all across Western Oklahoma. Big Elk Baseball has started fast. The Elks are 4-0 after their 3rd district win in as many tries Monday in Woodward. Elk City pounded the Boomers 20-0 in a 5 inning run rule. Jr. Superstar pitcher Kash Mayfield went all 5 innings giving up no runs on no hits. He struck out 14 of the 15 outs for Woodward. Kash has gone 7 innings so far this season. He’s yet to give up a hit or run. He’s struck out 20 of the 21 outs he’s recorded.

Elsewhere on the baseball diamond, W’ford shut out Anadarko in district action 19-0, AB topped B-O 10-6, Navajo beat Big Pasture 9-4, Canute outlasted Hollis 5-4, Carnegie was a run better than Cordell 7-6, Granite blanked Fletcher 11-0, Hammon keeps beating Lomega, this time in baseball 7-6, Hydro-Eakly clipped Hinton 6-5, Shattuck won a pair 12-2 against Timberlake and 2-0 over West, Tx, Vici outslugged Clinton’s JV 22-7

In Slow Pitch Softball, AB whipped TFC 16-3, Blair beat BFDC twice 3-2 and 5-1, MVG edged Calumet 3-1, H-E smoked Canute 11-3, Mangum beat Duke twice 10-0 and 8-7, Shattuck obliterated Sayre 22-2,

There were a couple matches on the soccer pitch. On the girls side, Bethany beat Wford 5-1. Bethany won the boys match 2-0.
