Elk City Basketball Wraps Regular Season

The Elk City basketball regular season wrapped up Monday night inside the Pioneer Center against Bethany.

The Elkettes played a fantastic first half but ultimately the Lady Bronchos were too much winning 88-51. Bethany’s Class 4A #3 at 21-1. They had 4 in double figures with superstar sophomore Keziah Lofton leading them with 25. The Elkettes put a season-high 51 points on the board against Bethany. Hailey Buie led them with 12. Abby Brown was also in double figures with 10. Jada Kimball came off the Elkette’s bench with 9.

The Big Elks played a great first half but couldn’t hold on to the lead in the second half of a 60-49 loss to the Bronchos. Bethany was fantastic at the free throw stripe down the stretch, knocking down 11/14 in the 4th quarter alone. Wyatt Guessler led 3 Bronchos in double figures with 22. Kye Keyes and Cole Buie were the only elks in double figures with 11 and 10 respectively.

Now the focus of the Elk City teams shifts to playoff hoops. They’ll get the postseason started Friday night with a district matchup against Woodward.
