Ada takes the 4A Girls State Golf Championship in Weatherford

The Class 4A Girls State Golf Championship wrapped up in Weatherford yesterday afternoon, and it was Ada who came out on top. They edged out Bishop McGuiness by two strokes, with Ft. Gibson coming in third. Locally, Clinton finished fourth, Weatherford finished fifth, and Elk City placed seventh. Senior Brett Barnett of Elk City shot rounds of 82-91 to become an All Stater. Campbell Rainey just missed out on the same honor after firing 86-90. Camryn Edney and Jayden Manning both shot a two-day total of 200. Edney had 92-108, and Manning shot 95-105. Senior Caylin Burton ended her career with a 201 total after rounds of 103-98. Rachel Carruth of Weatherford is also an All Stater, shooting 80-79. McKinley Elwick fired a pair of 93s, while her twin sister Addison shot 93-96. Reagan Rosenkranz had 96-104, and Emma McCurdy finished with a 102-100. Clinton’s individual scores were Addison Littke with 82-89, Kat Meacham finished with 81-93, Grace Meacham shot 88-89, Addison Newcomb fired 96-101, and Rylee Cummins shot 100-97.

Elk City’s Brett Barnett was named All Stater in the Class 4A Girls State Golf Championship, which wrapped up in Weatherford yesterday. Barnett shot rounds of 82-91 to earn the honor. Locally, Weatherford finished fifth, and Elk City placed seventh in the tournament.

Rachel Carruth of Weatherford was named All Stater in the Class 4A Girls State Golf Championship, which wrapped up in Weatherford yesterday. Carruth shot 80-79 to earn the honor.
