State Superintendent Ryan Walters urged Speaker Charles McCall and Rep. Mark McBride to initiate impeachment proceedings during a press conference on Friday.

This call follows an investigation into the State Department of Education, which is accused of misusing and withholding funds. At least 25 Republican legislators, including Rep. Nick Archer (R-55) of Elk City, have endorsed a letter written by McBride that demands an investigation.

Walters said if Speaker McCall wants to impeach him, he’s calling on them to start impeachment proceedings on Monday.
