The Elk City Aquatic Center is nearly complete says City Manager Tom Ivester.

He said that final inspections on the pool in Ackley Park has started this week, and could be open to the public soon after.

He said the Oklahoma Department of Labor and Oklahoma Department of Health are conducting the inspections.

Ivester noted that although the Memorial Day target date of opening was missed, he is pleased with the construction crews efforts to get the pool ready despite the recent rainy weather pattern that has slowed down the process.
