Update: Elk City Teen Charged After July Shooting

An Elk City teen has been charged after a shooting took place in Elk City late last month.

According to court records, 17-year-old Leonel Bryan Ramirez was charged on July 25 as a youthful offender with shooting with the intent to kill after being arrested the day before.

Elk City Police said that the shooting occurred on West 3rd Street near Oklahoma Avenue after an argument between the defendant and the victim escalated and Ramirez allegedly shot the victim before fleeing the scene.

Ramirez was quickly located and arrested.

The victim reportedly was shot in his arm and leg, however his injuries were determined to be non-life threatening.

Ramirez’s next court date is scheduled for August 27.
