A couple from Texas were arrested in Beckham County recently after being found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Anthony Alan Scheetz along with Bree Nicole McDaniel, both from Burleson, Texas, were arrested on July 24 by a trooper with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol after the trooper found the couple in a vehicle stopped on the eastbound off ramp of Interstate 40 near mile marker 26.

While assessing the situation the trooper would discover drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine, a loaded pistol and a loaded rifle inside the car. The trooper would also find a ticket book from Comanche County that is commonly used by law enforcement inside the vehicle, along with a working light bar with red and blue lights.

While running the tag, the trooper discovered that the vehicle was indeed stolen.

After communicating with officials from Comanche County, the trooper was advised that the ticket book was reported stolen from Elgin, and that the car had been reported stolen out of Comanche County as well.

The trooper also inquired about any possible reports of individuals attempting to impersonate law enforcement, but Comanche County had no reports of such actions.

Both Scheetz and McDaniel were arrested and booked into the Beckham County Jail.

Scheetz received two felony charges of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, one felony count of possession of a stolen vehicle and one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

McDaniel received one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
