SWOSU Announces 2024–2025 President’s Leadership Class

Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) has announced the selection of the newest members of the President’s Leadership Class (PLC) for the upcoming 2024–2025 academic year. The PLC program at SWOSU is dedicated to recognizing and encouraging participation as SWOSU campus leaders and future leaders in Oklahoma. The program promotes and develops effective academic, social, and leadership skills through campus activities, seminars, guest speakers, recruitment and alumni efforts.

Sixteen high school seniors have been chosen for PLC Class XIX:

Carli Jennings, Binger-Oney High School

Avery Armstrong, Broken Arrow High School

Daton Winslett, Comanche High School

Carlie Banks, Cordell High School

Kylie Warren, Hydro-Eakly High School

Rena Cole, Edmond (Homeschool)

Holden Dixon, Elk City

Bentlee Lindsey, Newcastle High School

Aleyda Mejia-Avalos, Santa Fe South Pathways Middle College

Zaynee Ipson, Turpin High School

Andrea Stalder, Weatherford High School

Ava Foster, Weatherford High School

Dylan Hunt, Weatherford High School

Tanner Long, Wilburton High School

Christian Rick, Yukon High School

Evann Boyd, Yukon High School

Freshmen PLC students are awarded a $1,000 scholarship for each of their first two years at SWOSU, along with a room scholarship for their initial year and enrollment in a specialized leadership class exclusive to PLC students.

Following their second year in the program, students have the opportunity to participate in a sponsored trip to Washington, D.C.

In addition, SWOSU has selected two individuals for its inaugural Transfer President’s Leadership Class. Both Anna Shaw of Norman and Addison Wilson of Binger-Oney will be transferring to SWOSU from Rose State College. Transfer PLC students will also receive a $1,000 scholarship for two years and are invited to participate in select PLC programming. Additionally, they will receive a sponsored trip to Washington, D.C. after their second year in the program.
