Sept. 5, 2024

A new exhibit from the Smithsonian National Museum of American History will debut in Cheyenne this weekend. The traveling exhibit is part of the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street Program.

Taking a step back into history, the exhibit is a condensed version of America’s democracy, ranging from the 1700s to today. The exhibit will be displayed at the Cheyenne-Roger Mills County Chamber of Commerce at 101 S. L. L. Males Avenue and will give visitors a glimpse into America’s democratic history.

This exhibit comes from the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, in partnership with Oklahoma Humanities. It is an effort to bring the country’s complex history to the people.

The exhibit in Cheyenne begins this Saturday and will run until October 19. If you miss it, don’t worry: the exhibit will then move to the Al Harris Library at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, where it will be on display from October 26 to December 7.
