During her recent visit to Elk City, Southwestern Oklahoma State University President Dr. Diana Lovell spoke to the Elk City Rotary Club about various university related topics including the return of a free clinic next month.

Dr. Lovell said that after a one year hiatus, the Remote Area Medical clinic will return to the Pioneer Cellular Event Center on the Weatherford campus on July 16 – 17, and will be free to the public.

She said the clinic will focus primarily on optometry, and dentistry – however volunteers are needed.

Services available at the RAM clinic include dental cleanings, dental fillings, dental extractions, dental x-rays, comprehensive eye exams, eyeglass prescriptions, eyeglasses made on-site, diabetic eye exams, glaucoma evaluations and general medical exams.

The clinics will open their doors at 6 a.m. on both days.
