A long time rural telephone service, Pioneer announced it is discontinuing its cellular operations. The firm said its Broadband, telephone and iVideo customers would not be affected by the decision.

The Kingfisher-headquartered firm informed customers on Friday that it made the business decision to discontinue its cellular operations by this summer, and that they’re working with Verizon to ensure that existing customers maintain connectivity.

Serving rural Oklahoma for 70 years, Pioneer said no action was needed by its cellular customers at this time. The company said its customers would receive a letter in the next several weeks in which more information will be provided about transferring service.
