A Woodward woman is wanted in Beckham County after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate at North Fork Correctional Center while she was correctional security officer at the facility.

According to court records, 29-year-old Ruth Ann Elizabeth Christie was charged with one felony count of second degree rape on Friday and a felony warrant was issued for her arrest on the same day by a Beckham County judge.

A probable cause affidavit showed that, while employed by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Christie allegedly began a sexual relationship with an inmate at the correctional facility in Sayre.

The affidavit claimed that Christie knew the inmate was in possession of a cell phone and the two had began communicating with each other. The document said Christie allegedly would use a state issued cell phone to send messages to the inmate.

The affidavit also said that the two engaged in physical contact on multiple occasions, the latest occurring on February 20.

Finally, the document stated that the inmate was discovered with the contraband cell phone on February 22, and it was then that authorities became aware of the relationship.

Along with the rape charge, Christie was charged with violation of Oklahoma statute via computer due to her usage of the state owned cell phone.

Once arrested, bond for Christie was set at $75,000.
