Elk City’s famed train at Ackley Park will be replaced.

The news came during the latest meeting of the Elk City Commission last week, when the Commission approved a bid received for a mini train to Swannee River RR Company LLC in the amount of $59,250 plus shipping and crating.

City Manager Tom Ivester described the engine to the Commission before the approved purchase.

Ivester also said a new track has also been purchased and will have to be installed at a future date, pending the Commissions approval.
