On the heels of the announcement of a business planning to occupy the former K-Mart building in Clinton, City Manager Robert Johnston says Sutherland Lumber Home Improvement Center could open it’s doors during the early days of 2022.

Johnston said the business, who has locations in Tulsa, Bixby, and Lawton, is eager to have a presence in western Oklahoma.

Johnston compares Sutherland Lumber as being a smaller version of a Lowe’s or Home Depot.

Johnston also noted that the building’s location on Interstate 40 was also very attractive to Sutherland.
