During his visit to Elk City recently, Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03) of Cheyenne spoke about his current role as chairman of the Science, Space, and Technology Committee.

When asked about the role the Oklahoma Air & Space Port, better known as Clinton-Sherman Airpark, in Burns Flat could play in future space endeavors the U.S. may encounter, he said the facility is almost always brought in conversation in D.C.

Lucas added that he feels a new space race is emerging between the United States and China in an effort to not only return to the moon, but to be the first to put a man on Mars.
