The Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission is scheduled to meet in regular session Wednesday morning with one local airport possibly receiving major funding towards a hangar project.

Among the agenda items, the Commission will consider approving a state loan for a project that is currently identified in the Commission’s approved Airport Construction Program at Thomas Municipal Airport. The project consists of constructing a new box hangar as part of the 2022 Statewide Hangar Loan Program. Based on bids, the total project cost is $848,947 and will be funded with $509,367 of state funds, and $339,5 80 of sponsor matching funds.

In an earlier agenda item, the Commission will consider approving a state grant for a project that is currently identified in the Commission’s approved Airport Construction Program at Frederick Regional Airport in Tillman County. The project consists of, among other things, rehabilitating the runway lighting system. Based on bids, the total project cost is $787,239 and will be funded with $446,130 of federal grant funds, $276,962 of state grant funds, and $64,147 of sponsor matching funds.

An approval for both items is contingent upon the Commission receiving acceptable grant applications.

Wednesday morning’s meeting in Oklahoma City is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m.
