A Leedey man was hospitalized Monday morning after being in a one vehicle accident near Vici in Dewey County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, that accident occurred just before 11 a.m. on OK-34, 5 miles south of Vici when the 1998 Freightliner driven by 63-year-old Kenny W. Rounds struck a guardrail. As a result, the driver over-corrected to the left and struck the other guardrail on the opposite of the road before striking a tree.

Troopers said Rounds was pinned inside the semi before being extricated by Vici EMS.

Rounds was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in stable condition with head and trunk internal injuries.

OHP says the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
