The latest sales tax numbers are in and once again Elk City is over the $1 million mark.
Other area municipalities have reported strong numbers as well.
According to the Oklahoma Tax Commission, the City of Elk City brought in $1,269,065.24, a 5% increase when compared to a year ago.
The City of Weatherford brought in $1,125,374.58, an 8.5% increase when compared to last year, and the City of Clinton collected $549,490.14 – a 0.81% increase.
By comparison both Altus and Woodward were north of $1 million a well with Altus bringing in $1,150,326.63, up 5.2% and Woodward collecting $1,165,803.81 up 11%.
Other western Oklahoma communities of note saw Sayre up 14.8% by bringing in $173,884.09 and Cordell up 2.6% by collecting $98,072.89.
