Salvation Army Press Release

A sizeable donation was recently received from Hutchinson Oil/Hutch’s C-Store to help The Salvation Army assist those in the most need across Western, Southwestern, and Northwestern Oklahoma and Kansas. As inflation was the theme of 2022, many of those who were already struggling to make ends meet found themselves in need of a helping hand. The Salvation Army is so very grateful not only for the generous donation and relationship established many years ago, but they are also appreciative of the philanthropic heart shown by Hutchinson Oil.

Just like the past few years, Hutch’s loyal customers could donate at each location from Thanksgiving thru the end of the year. For the second year, a giving option was provided which allowed customers to donate increments of $1 to The Salvation Army at the cash register. The program was, once again, very successful. The Salvation Army is very grateful to everyone who donated to help make an impact in their communities.

Our family and employees, as well as our customers, really stepped up this year to make this campaign a success. I think all of us recognized that more families were in need this year and wanted to help. We’ve been putting these kettles out in our stores now for ten years, and it has become a holiday tradition that we look forward to I think it helps remind us and our employees daily what this season is really about and that is giving back. Thank you to all our employees and customers for being so generous.” Linda Hutchinson.

With the Hutchinson’s matching donation, $21,393.20 has been donated to The Salvation Army on behalf of C-Store customers and employees. The contribution helps bring hope for the hopeless, food for the hungry, and so much more in the counties where Hutch’s C-Stores are located. Hutch’s C-Stores located in Altus, Anadarko, Clinton, Elk City, Enid, Guymon, Hammon, Sayre, Watonga, Weatherford, and Woodward, Oklahoma as well as Liberal, Kansas participated in the campaign.

The Salvation Army is so thankful for the continued partnership and support from Hutchinson Oil!!  Their gifts and the support from the communities they serve are providing The Salvation Army funds which will help families keep food on the table this winter, the heat and electricity on through utility assistance, and hope alive for those who are hurting and in need.  Thank you to Hutchinson Oil for being a hope-giver to so many in all the communities you represent and serve!” states Douglas Goetzinger, Divisional Development Director, Arkansas-Oklahoma Division of The Salvation Army.
