Gov. Stitt Appoints Jacobsma as DA for 3rd District

It was announced on Friday that Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has appointed Dan Jacobsma as the district attorney for the 3rd Prosecutorial District.

Counties in the district include Greer, Kiowa, Harmon, Jackson and Tillman.

Jacobsma has served as the first assistant district attorney for the 3rd Prosecutorial District since 2019, prosecuting major crimes across all five represented counties and supervising other assistant district attorneys. Between 1997 and 2024, Jacobsma was a staff attorney for the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System, where he represented underserved criminal defendants at all levels. Jacobsma has over 19 years of combined service as an assistant district attorney across Custer, Beckham, Harmon, and Greer Counties.

Jacobsma graduated from Cameron University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He later earned his law degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1997.
