Fire Crews Battle Sunday Grass Fire

Local fire crews battled a grass fire yesterday west of Elk City.

Elk City Fire Chief Kyle Chervenka says the fire started as a control burn near county road 1940 and OK-6 at around 2 p.m. Sunday.

Chervenka said 5 fire crews from around the area assisted in containing the blaze and said because of their efforts, no structures were involved.

There were no injuries.
