A semi truck hauling a wind turbine ran into trouble Friday in Elk City, causing damage to a light pole.

According to Elk City Police Chief Eddie Holland, the incident took place around noon at the intersection of OK-34 and US-66 when the transport, while traveling south bound on OK-34, attempted to turn east onto the Interstate 40 on ramp.

Officials believe that the rear axle remote control failed during the turn – which caused the turbine to contact a light pole and uprooting it.

Officials say there were no injuries reported in the accident.
