During the latest meeting of the Elk City School Board, the school leaders approved the capacity limits for each grade in the district. An agenda item considered annually ever since the implementation of Oklahoma’s open-transfer law.

Superintendent Mike Sparks says as of this current school year, the district is near capacity in enrollment numbers.

Sparks says at times the school has had to turn potential transfer students away due to capacity limits, but says all transfer requests are considered and typically all approved if there is room for the students.
