Elk City High School Launches Aviation and Drone Pathways for 2025-2026 School Year

During the 2025-2026 school year, Elk City High School will make available to students, The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) four-year pathways of coursework.

The curriculum, a collection of practical, rigorous, and engaging activities, is offered free to schools and provides students the opportunity to learn basic foundational principles of aviation and aerospace. There are two pathways that schools may choose to offer. Pilot/General Aviation Pathway and/or the UAS/Drone Pathway which allows students to work towards their FAA private pilot’s license and or Part 107 UAS certification. Each pathway provides schools with four years of quality curriculum for students enrolled in grades 9-12.

Both pathways offer student the opportunities to be introduced to the various careers available in the aviation and aerospace industry.
