The City of Elk City is considering providing citizens another option of internet and cable.

After receiving a presentation from a representative on October 20th, the Commission on Wednesday during their regular meeting received more information regarding the proposal of the business offering services to Elk City.

The information came during an introduction of an ordinance that, if approved on a later date, would grant a non-exclusive permit to Clarity Telecom for the construction and operation of the system.

City Manager Tom Ivester broke down the proposed contract for the Commission.

Desi Stoops with Telecom told the Commission that the company has been approved in Perry, Stillwater, Enid, and Bartlesville. He also broke down the internet options for customers.

Stoops also said that Clinton has already approved a franchise agreement with them, and that they plan to office in Clinton. Weatherford will consider a contract with the company on November 30.
