Elk City Commissioners Update Ordinances

After a review, the City of Elk City has stricken and updated a variety of city ordinances during the latest meeting of the Elk City Commission.

City Manager Tom Ivester said one of the ordinances stricken involved how a citizen would buy a pistol within city limits.

Ivester also said an ordinance requiring all pets be licensed and micro-chipped was also stricken.

In other business, City Commissioners approved the purchase of a new street sweeper from United Engines in the amount of $279,500 – a budgeted item. Ivester said the city’s current street sweeper will remain with the city’s fleet.
