The Elk City Commission will meet tomorrow in regular session for the final time this calendar year.

Among the items the Commission will discuss and consider, the Commission is set to approve or disapprove a Interlocal Agreement between City of Elk City and Clinton Solid Waste Authority for disposal of Clinton’s municipal solid waste.

City Manager Tom Ivester says due to the City of Elk City’s landfill being regulated by the Department of Environmental Quality, it’s not uncommon to take on other city and town’s waste. He says that Elk City’s landfill is one in roughly 50 in the state that is able to do this.

Ivester said if approved, the City of Clinton would have to approve the agreement on their end.

Other items the Commission will consider during the meeting include possibly declaring various structures as dilapidated. The Commission will also consider the purchase of four 2022 Ford Police Interceptors from Joe Cooper Ford out of Shawnee.

Wednesday’s meeting is scheduled to take place inside City Hall at 2p.m.
