A Clinton man and woman have been arrested in connection to a burglary incident in Clinton that resulted in the victim getting shot in both his legs.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 34-year-old Terence Darrell McBrayer of Clinton was arrested and charged on August 1, after an investigation into the incident that occurred at a home in the 1600 block of Deputy Drive on the morning of June 24.

The affidavit stated that the victim told police that he was woken up by a woman who claimed she needed help. Shortly after the defendant, the woman 30-year-old Kaylie Dawn Tucker of Clinton, and another man forced themselves into the home and McBrayer allegedly shooting the victim in the legs.

Police would later arrive to render aid and process the scene.

It wasn’t until August 1 when police were able to locate McBrayer at the Custer County Courthouse. There, they would arrest him and place him into the Custer County Jail.

McBrayer was charged with assault and battery by means likely to produce death, possession of a firearm, and first-degree burglary. Tucker was arrested on Wednesday and charged with first-degree burglary.
