The Arrowhead Center has crowned its end-of-year pickleball champions.

Cousins Quinn Brewer and Mayson Rheaume recently won the last pickleball tournament of the year at Elk City’s Arrowhead Center.

An Elk City High School tennis player, Brewer, 15, enjoys playing indoor pickleball in the cold months when playing tennis outside is challenging.

It’s fun to hit the ball hard in pickleball, which you can’t always do in tennis,” Brewer said.

Rheaume, 12, of Cordell, is also an avid tennis player and likes playing pickleball indoors as a cold-weather alternative.

The cousins won 5 matches and lost 1 on their way to the title.

In the finals, Brewer and Rheaume faced the team that had beaten them. Because of the earlier loss, the cousins had to win twice to claim the championship, which they did by scores of 11-8 and 11-9.

The Arrowhead Center’s new fee structure begins January 3. Membership details are available at this link: https://anc.apm.activecommunities.com/arrowheadcenter/membership/search?onlineSiteId=0
