August Sales Tax Numbers In The Green For Area Cities

Communities in western Oklahoma are continuing to see an economic rebound as evident from the latest sales tax numbers from the month of August.

According to statistics, three municipalities collected over $1 million in sales tax revenue during that month, including Elk City bringing in just over $1.2 million, a 12% increase when compared to August 2021. The City of Weatherford brought in just under $1.1 million – a 2.7% increase and Woodward was up 2.8% by bringing in a little over $1,070,000.

By comparison, those cities out earned, the much larger City of El Reno which brought in a little over $1,010,000.

Clinton was up 13.9% by bringing in just over $530,000.

Other smaller cities and towns in the area fared well in the month of August as well.

Cordell was up 23%, Thomas was up 13%, and Hydro was up 1.3%.
