ATV Accident Hospitalizes Carter Man

A Carter man is in critical condition after being involved in an ATV accident in Beckham County.

According to the accident report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred Sunday afternoon just before 4 p.m. 3 miles east of Carter on OK-34 at E1273 Road.

OHP said 74-year-old Dennis Macintire was driving a 2020 Polaris Sportsman XP1000 in a field on private property when he lost control of the ATV and rolled it onto its side.

Troopers said Macintire was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in critical condition with head and trunk internal injuries.
