An Altus man lost his life yesterday after being involved in a accident with a Polaris Razr.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 38-year-old Justin Miller was the passenger in the recreational vehicle when the mishap happened on a county road near the town of Duke.
OHP says that the cause of the accident remains under investigation, however the report said that the driver, 45-year-old Casey Miranda, also from Altus, was transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with head and trunk internal injuries. He was last listed to be in stable condition.
The report stated that both occupants of the vehicle were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
In a separate accident earlier this week a roll over accident involving a semi near Duke shut down a highway in Jackson County Monday.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, U.S. Highway 62 was shut down Monday afternoon for nearly two and half hours after a semi overturned about a mile west of Duke.
No injuries were reported due to the mishap. Cause of the accident is still under investigation.
