Childress County, TX – Three pleas were entered Monday, December 8, in the 100th Judicial District Court in Childress County.
Luke Inman, District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District, along with Assistant District Attorney Harley Caudle, prosecuted the cases for the State of Texas. The Honorable Judge Dale Rabe, Jr., presided.
Julie Roberts Collins, 47, of Wellington, Texas, was placed on five years probation for the third degree felony offense of Theft.
Collins was arrested by Texas Department of Public Safety Ranger Scott Swick after being indicted by the Collingsworth County Grand Jury on August 21.
“Scott’s meticulous investigation, spanning many years of this defendant’s employment with O.J.D. Engineering, allowed my office to reach this favorable conclusion for both the State of Texas and our victim,” Inman said.
As part of the sentence, Collins was ordered to pay $61,790.07 in upfront restitution, $376 in court costs, and complete 200 hours of community service. If her probation is revoked, Collins could face up to ten years in prison.
