Weatherford police were busy Monday night gathering information and interviewing witnesses after a Weatherford woman was shot at a local motel.
According to a press release from the Weatherford Police Department, one person was detained at the scene in the 500 block of East Main after police found the victim, 30-year-old Ashley Barr had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. Barr was transported to the Weatherford Regional Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
As of press time no formal charges have been filed against the person who was detained. The press release stated that the shooting remains under investigation.
