A Weatherford man is in critical condition after being involved in a two vehicle accident in Custer County Thursday afternoon.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s collision report, the accident occurred just before 1p.m. on US-183 2.5 miles north of Taloga in Custer County when for an unknown reason the 2021 Ford F-150 driven by 64-year-old Henry F. Deaton crossed the center line while heading south bound.

Troopers said the pickup would collide with a 2021 Freightliner that was traveling north bound on the highway.

As a result, Deaton was ejected from his vehicle.

OHP said he was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted with trunk internal, trunk external, arm and leg injuries.

Troopers said that Deaton was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and his condition before the wreck is still under investigation.
