The Elk City Fire Department has a need for volunteers.
Chris Nidey with the Fire Department says anyone between the ages of 18 and 45 are encouraged to apply.
Nidey says hourly pay is involved and most volunteers can qualify to receive benefits that include a pension to go towards retirement.
He said potential volunteers can pick up an application at the Elk City Fire Department. Nidey says anyone selected will have to complete the cadet academy at the Western Technology Center in Elk City.
Nidey says the application process will wrap up towards the early part of next month.
