More information has been released regarding a shooting incident that took place on the evening of October 15 at a marijuana grow house near Sayre.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed in Beckham County District Court, 41-year-old Linhui Yang was arrested and charged with shooting with the intent to kill, a felony, after allegedly firing an AR style rifle at another man.

The court document stated that Beckham County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the location after a 911 call came in, where the reporting party claimed there was a trespasser on the land, and that he, the caller, had a gun.

That caller was later identified as being Yang.

When deputies arrived, they found Yang and another man who would tell the authorities that he was the license holder for the marijuana grow operation on the property, and the landowner.

The man would also tell deputies that Yang owed him $30,000.

He stated that he came to the property to feed dogs that he said were starving and needed food. He claims that upon arrival, Yang would point a gun at the man. When asked why he was pointing the gun, Yang told the man to “kill you”.

Later, while walking away from the building, the man told deputies that he heard three shots and began to ran. He also claims that Yang said he was calling 911.

While talking to deputies, Yang would tell a deputy that he did indeed have the gun but initially denied firing at the man, saying he fired warning shots at the ground.

After an investigation, deputies would find a wooden post with bullet holes in it near where the property owner claimed he was walking. The affidavit also stated that Yang changed his story as to what direction he was shooting, multiple times.

Initial bond for Yang was set at $500,000.
