More details have been released of the case of a man who led multiple agencies on a high speed pursuit on Interstate 40 in both Texas and Oklahoma.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 50-year-old Mark Jones of Fredericksburg, Virginia is accused of impersonating an officer after the pursuit.

The affidavit stated that on the afternoon of February 3, the chase originated in the Texas Panhandle before crossing the state line into Beckham County where Beckham County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted in the pursuit. The affidavit stated that the vehicle would reach speeds between 85 and 90 mph and had passed multiple vehicles.

The pursuit would end near the 11 mile marker where the affidavit stated that Jones allegedly would claim that he was an undercover federal agent and had a badge. After further inspection, the badge would say “Universal Life Church, Solider of Christ, and Arc Angel”.

Beckham County Sheriff Derek Manning said Jones also had a red flashing light in the interior of the vehicle.

Court records show that Jones was charged with one felony count of eluding and one count of impersonating a police officer.

His next court date is scheduled for February 27.
