Edmond, OK – Two men were arrested Monday in connection with an identity theft investigation involving an Elk City business.
According to a press release from the Elk City Police Department, officers with the Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant on Monday, February 16, 2026, at a residence in Edmond, Oklahoma as part of the ongoing case.
During the search, 40 year old Robert Neal Babcock of Edmond was located at the residence and taken into custody on a Beckham County felony warrant. The charges include bogus check or con game, violations of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act, and identity theft.
A second suspect, 33 year old Jonathan Michael Wrye of Elk City, was later located and arrested at a separate location by the Edmond Police Department. Wrye was also taken into custody on a Beckham County warrant for bogus check or con game, violations of the Computer Crimes Act, and identity theft.
The Elk City Criminal Investigations Division was assisted by the Edmond Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and SWAT team during the operation. Elk City police expressed appreciation for the professionalism and coordination shown in safely carrying out the search and arrests.
Both men were transported to the Beckham County Jail and booked.
