Beckham County, OK – A Missouri woman was arrested in Beckham County after a high-speed pursuit on Interstate 40 that began in Custer County on September 12.
According to court records, Luz Marina Galindo Ordonez, 28, was observed driving a black Lexus sedan at 96 miles per hour in a 75 mph zone near mile marker 57. After failing to pull over for a traffic stop, she allegedly accelerated, exited the highway shoulder, and then drove away from law enforcement.
During the pursuit, Galindo Ordonez reportedly reached speeds between 60 and 80 mph, at times failing to maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. The chase ended near the 40-mile marker westbound when law enforcement deployed stop sticks, puncturing the vehicle’s tires.
Court filings indicate that Galindo Ordonez was listed as a missing person out of Carthage, Missouri, earlier that day. Reports also noted that she has a history of bipolar disorder and had recently been making erratic social media posts, leading to concerns from family members.
Galindo Ordonez was taken into custody without further incident and transported to Beckham County Jail, where she was booked on charges of speeding, obstructing an officer, and attempting to elude law enforcement.
Bond was set at $5,000.
